Anand Sahib The Hymn of Bliss
The Guru’s Shabad is a perfect flow of Naad (Sound Current), and to simply break that flow and drop out a hugh portion of it, and then tack on the end of it and act as though you had done the whole thing, is butchery. Not only is the Anand Sahib recited in this way on a daily basis, but the Nit Nem prayer books are printed in this way and the Amrit of the Khanda is prepared in this manner.
The reverence that all of the Gurus have had towards the Granth and their extreme respect for all the Gurbani make it difficult, if not impossible, to imagine that these things were done ‘by mistake’! Sahib Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji ordered that if a mistake was ever made in the public reading of any Gurbani, it should always be immediately corrected by someone present (regardless of who the reader is!). And once when a Sikh of Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji mispronounced one sound of the Gurbani in his presence, the Guru reprimanded him immediately.
